I was so excited to splurge and purchase this mattress. It was always on my dream mattress list. In my "trial" period I thought this mattress was suiting my needs.. My back was slightly stiff but I could do as I thought I was adjusting. Around my expiration time.. My back became more and more stiff and painful.. Would wake me up in then early morning hours. I finally disrobed the bed and took a yard stick to it. Sure enough it was holding a sag around my shoulders and upper back. I called and they said submit a warranty claim... I wa denied because the sag was 1 inch not 1.5 inches.. Even though the mattress was not even 4 mo old. After I rotated mattress to get out of the hole.. And pain continues. This mattress definitely helps pressure points, I cannot complain there, but good lord my middle and lower back are killing me.. Literally wakes me up throbbing. It is just too firm. After spending 4k on this mattress I still have to add a topper I have on order. I am so very very disappointed..and am stuck. I highly suggest if you have ANY cause for concern prior to the 90 days turn it in, bc otherwise they won't help you. To stand behind a mattress that holds a 1 inch sag (at the shoulders no less.. Not the heaviest part of the hips) with no rebound at less than 4 mo old... It's really concerning. This is not a top of the line matress like it use to be.

This is our first Stearns & Foster mattress. We purchased the Lux Estate Medium Tight Top, which is a bit firmer than anticipated, however our sleep has been very restful. We have different sleep preferences including back, side and belly, but the medium firm has met all our needs for comfort and support. The tufted design in the medium firm Tight Top creates a network of 'shallow divits', which are felt when changing limb positions, but in time I am noticing them less. The motion transfer is very minimal, and their is no noticable off-gassing. Overall it is a beautifully constructed, high quality mattress, with great attention to detail. Our only negative experience was our delivery did not arrive before Christmas as anticipated, however our concerns were addressed in the end by customer service.

The mattress is a brick and not what we were shown and tested on the showroom floor. You better do your due diligence and educate yourself thoroughly on mattress types, materials, and design for the type of sleeper that you are. This estate euro pillow top mattress is absolutely not for side sleepers. We will be exchanging it as soon as the 30 day window opens and likely will not stay with the Stearns and Foster line, but instead we'll go to Beautyrest. Best tip: buy direct from manufacturer

Just a note to make sure that Rita and Athens Alabama helped me she is wonderful. Also the delivery man were especially nice. I have a lot of back trouble and this mattress helps me sleep better and wake up without a back ache.

I had such high expectations for this mattress based off of the reviews but maybe they were too high. This is our Third major brand mattress purchase in a year and a half. I have
trouble sleeping so I really wanted to love this mattress just like everyone else. I'm about 4 weeks in and just hoping that my body is still adjusting. As of now, I'm just still on the fence. I just can't really say that I see anything special about it that makes it seem any better than the others but willing to give it more time because I'm so hopeful that it will get better. I can say it's extremely heavy and I cannot change the sheets without my husband's assistance. That might be helpful information to someone.

As someone with long years of insomnia I am more than happy to share that my new S&F mattress has helped me fall and stay asleep. It wasn't a miracle solution but it helped. The soft top layer over the firmness below is notably more comfortable than the three or four equally priced mattresses I have previously owned. I'm grateful the the NYT Wirecutter column's top rating made me give it a try, that the company's liberal return policy made me feel like I had options, and not to sound too much like a paid advertisement (which this is not), the delivery service was exactly what you want delivery to be…they kept me informed and arrived on time.

I have slept on these mattresses for over 20 years. They are very comfortable except after about seven or eight years they begin to sag in the places where you sleep which I don't believe they should do. Extremely expensive mattress.

After 12+ years we were ready for a new mattress. In our advanced years, we recognized this would probably be our last mattress. The salesman left it to us to decide what was right for us. After we got it down to the last two in consideration, we were more focused on comfort and support. Cost did not come into our decision, and we determined for ourselves that quality of product relates to comfort. This is a mattress which offers comfort for a great nights sleep. After back surgery and hip surgery I can't say enough about this mattress.

My wife and I first tried this mattress at a hotel on vacation and slept so well we knew we had to have it for our home. We were delighted when the hostess provided the exact details of the mattress. This mattress is firm, yet soft and supportive. We both struggle with back pain and I can honestly say that sleeping on the Stearns and Foster mattresses has provided us with much needed support and better sleep.
One note: we got the tight top firm, next time we'd buy with the pillow top for a little extra cushion. We still love our mattress!

After 25 years of incredible comfprt, I finally decided it was time to replace my beloved Stearns & Foster mattress. Over the years, I tried other brands, hoping to find something that could match the quality and comfort of my old mattress, but each time, I ended up giving them away and returning to my trusty Stearns & Foster. The support, durability, and luxurious feel are unmatched and no other mattress could provide the same level of restfulness. So, after a few failed attempst with other brands. I knew I had to come back to Stearns & Foster for my next mattress, espically now when we are up in our years - our bodies are not as durable and flexable like we were when we were younger. ***DO NOT BUY**** Maybe had a few weeks with this mattress, then it started to sink in the middle really bad right after the trial time expired. I weigh 150lb and my wife is 125ibs. DO NOT BUY!!! For the warranty they want you to basically send in numerous photos and other frivolous things including your bed frame to try to blame you for the defective mattress. Don't waste your money on this. Previously I had a sterns and foster that lasted 15 years and would still be better then this new mattress I recently purchased.
Customer service didn't really care one way or the other, so I will be buying another brand and letting people know to stay away from sterns and foster.
I can deal with losing out on my purchase price in exchange for warning others about this overpriced and underperforming mattress.

In May of 2024 I bought the estate firm Queen mattress . Now in Dec.2024 It has been replaced two times due to sagging and I am now on my third on and it is also sagging. What is the answer to this problem. They are too pricy to have this kind of trouble.

We have been looking at Stearns and Fosters for quite a while. A couple different sales reps recommended their mattresses above all the other brands they carried. We found a great deal after months of searching and with the help of a great customer service rep, we purchased some. So far we are loving them. They are so comfortable to sit on, lay on, and sleep on. You can tell the quality is top notch, as well as their service and delivery. We look forward to enjoying these for years to come.

I had hip replacement surgery a while back and slept on a new Serta mattress. My hip seemed to hurt daily! Last March I had to get my other hip replaced, I was miserable the pain during waking hours and my sleep pattern (always broken) was unbearable. I had a Sternsandfoster. 30 years ago and loved it!! I decided it's time to try your companies bed again. Guess what?? I am sleeping through the night and no pain upon waking up!! Sooo to all prosthetic hip replacement seniors this IS the real deal!! The price is affordable. Get some well deserved rest.

Bought this mattress from Ashley furniture located in the Woodlands, Tx area. The mattress edge broke down within a few months. We turned the mattress and the other side edge support broke down with in a few months. This mattress is used by an elderly person who weighs about 130lbs so weight and size of the person is not in question. The results of this defective edge has caused her to constantly roll off the edge of the bed. We contacted Ashley Furniture for help, they sent a mattress warranty claim representative to check out the issue. He reported the findings to Stearns and Foster. Your company DENIED any help, leaving an elderly woman at risk of really being hurt each time the defect causes her to roll out of bed.

It was difficult to find a mattress that was supportive while still being soft and comfortable, but we finally found it with this mattress! Many of the mattresses we tried either seemed like they'd sag in the middle eventually or felt hard as a rock. This mattress had the balance we were looking for as side sleepers. As with any mattress, expect it to be a little on the firmer side until it's broken in. Ours has been steadily softening towards how it felt when we tested it in the store.

For a very senior citizen, mom is finding this mattress too firm. She falls asleep on her back then rolls over on her side, but in either position, the bed is too firm. The old mattress was three years old and too soft with little support, so I thought a S&F would be great for mom. I had one years ago and loved it. I bought the Estate rather than the Studio, thinking it would be more comfortable but the mattress is not inviting. I don't know what level, firmness would be better for mom.

I find the mattress very comfortable and got it because I was having a lot of neck, back and hip pain.
It has the perfect combination of plushness and firmness and I've been virtually pain-free since sleeping on it.
It's a little heavy, so changing the sheets can be a bit of a project.

Unfortunately after 3 months our mattress started sagging in the center on both sides. Stearns recommended that we rotate the bed and "the indentations will even out over time." We then rotated our mattress every 4 months and one year later the mattress is unusable. I only weigh 125lbs and my husband is 165lbs. We have a steel base with rigid cross bracing. They would not warranty the bed due to the slats not being 3" wide.
